Silencing the Voice of God

The church has been under attack in America since before the October Revolution in Russia. Our enemies understood very well where our strength came from and it wasn’t government, at least not earthly government. Early in the 20th century, the World Council of Churches took an awful turn towards socialism. There was even people calling themselves Christians when I was a babe in Christ saying Christ was a communist; apparently, they didn’t understand the Word. I haven’t heard that statement in some time now… hopefully that statement went the way of plaid golf pants.

The seminaries that train up our pastors today are corrupt; teaching as doctrine the commandments of men, such as attributing patriotism to the tyrannical income tax… Well-meaning pastors are trained how to manage corporate churches and few ever really learn about God’s Church today; most today are 501(c)3 corporations who have agreed to the following:

“Corporations, and any community chest, fund, or foundation, organized and operated exclusively for religious, charitable, scientific, testing for public safety, literary, or educational purposes, or to foster national or international amateur sports competition (but only if no part of its activities involve the provision of athletic facilities or equipment), or for the prevention of cruelty to children or animals, no part of the net earnings of which inures to the benefit of any private shareholder or individual, no substantial part of the activities of which is carrying on propaganda, or otherwise attempting, to influence legislation (except as otherwise provided in subsection (h)), and which does not participate in, or intervene in (including the publishing or distributing of statements), any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for public office.” – 26 USC 501(c)3

Such an agreement muzzles the Spirit of God in any pastor that has made it. I cannot understand how a pastor filled with the Spirit of God can read that agreement and be a party to it; can you?

That wasn’t always so. The pulpit was instrumental in raising awareness of the principles of liberty, teaching people the reasons why Parliament and the King were wrong and what must be done about it; the main battle cry during our Revolution was “No King but King Jesus”… We understood where our liberty came from and jealously guarded it; though not all of us, there were many loyalists, who were members of the Anglican Church of England, who were convinced they must obey the monarchy regardless of the tyrant on the throne.

Patriot pastors such as Samuel West, on the other hand, renounced the idea of God commanding us to support and obey wicked ministers using the pacifist’s own scripture along with reason. I consider his sermon, “On the Right to Rebel against Governors” to be an inspired masterpiece of spiritually based political reasoning. Case in point:

“Further: if magistrates are no farther ministers of God than they promote the good of the community, then obedience to them neither is nor can be unlimited; for it would imply a gross absurdity to assert that, when magistrates are ordained by the people solely for the purpose of being beneficial to the state, they must be obeyed when they are seeking to ruin and destroy it. This would imply that men were bound to act against the great law of self-preservation, and to contribute their assistance to their own ruin and destruction, in order that they may please and gratify the greatest monsters in nature, who are violating the laws of God and destroying the rights of mankind. Unlimited submission and obedience is due to none but God alone. He has an absolute right to command; he alone has an uncontrollable sovereignty over us, because he alone is unchangeably good; he never will nor can require of us, consistent with his nature and attributes, anything that is not fit and reasonable; his commands are all just and good; and to suppose that he has given to any particular set of men a power to require obedience to that which is unreasonable, cruel, and unjust, is robbing the Deity of his justice and goodness, in which consists the peculiar glory of the divine character, and it is representing him under the horrid character of a tyrant.” — Samuel West, “One the Right to Rebel against Governors,” 1776.

Americans of faith need to genuinely and truthfully repent and turn from the wickedness and deception they’ve allowed to replace the Laws of Nature and Nature’s God in their lives; only then will our people learn the principles that brought them liberty in the first place.

Those of you who for whatever reason don’t believe in God can only benefit by supporting those in government that are his faithful servants, since they believe God is your judge not them and acting against their oath brings a harsh penalty to them on the other side of death for all eternity.

When a government official swears to support the Constitution, which includes the Bill of Rights, they swear to God to allow you to be free to exercise your belief according to the dictates of your conscience, not theirs; they’re prohibited from establishing a state religion and from prohibiting the free exercise of your beliefs; provided those beliefs do no harm to others, in which case the state has a duty to secure the natural rights of the person so harmed; such as in the case of ecclesiastical executions, human sacrifices, or forced/coerced conversions.

You may not believe in hell but having public officials that do can only benefit you, since their God takes oaths and vows very seriously (Ecclesiastes 5:4-5). Faithfulness is an attribute God holds in high regard, while equally despising unfaithfulness.

So regardless as to whether you believe in the Creator or not, if you desire to live within the blessings of a free and peaceful society where you can explore and become everything you aspire to, it benefits you enormously to not allow government to silence the voice of God in his people.
